Custom Timeframes

What Is a Custom Timeframe?

Custom Timeframes on the ParoxFX Platform; Set Up Your Charts Exactly According to Your Strategy

Choosing a timeframe is one of the most important parts of technical analysis. For a long time, traders had to conduct their analysis based on predefined timeframes such as 1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 hours.

But now, the ParoxFX trading platform provides access to Custom Chart Intervals, or custom timeframes.

This feature allows traders, instead of being limited to standard timeframes, to create the interval they need according to their trading strategy.

What Is a Custom Timeframe?

Custom Interval allows you to determine the time or calculation interval used to form the chart yourself.

On the ParoxFX platform, you can create custom intervals based on different units:

  • Tick
  • Second
  • Minute
  • Hour
  • Day
  • Week
  • Month

Therefore, you are no longer limited to using only the timeframes available in the standard list.

For example, you can create charts with 7-minute, 20-minute, 45-minute, 2-hour, or 3-hour timeframes, or other combinations that suit your analysis method.

Tick Charts Are Also Available

Another new chart feature on the ParoxFX platform is the addition of Tick-based charts.

The available predefined intervals include:

T1 – T10 – T100 – T1000

Unlike time-based charts, Tick Charts are formed based on the number of market ticks rather than simply the passage of time.

For this reason, Tick Charts can be a useful tool for traders who analyze short-term price behavior and market activity in greater detail.

On the T1 chart, Bid and Ask ticks can also be displayed, with their colors matching the trader’s Bid/Ask line settings.

Why Is a Custom Timeframe Useful?

Not every trading strategy is necessarily designed for standard timeframes.

For example, a trader may find that the market structure for their strategy is more clearly visible on a 20-minute chart than on a 15- or 30-minute chart.

Another trader may need a 2- or 3-hour chart for their medium-term analysis.

Custom Interval removes this limitation and allows the chart to adapt to the trader’s strategy, rather than forcing the trader to adapt their strategy to the available timeframes.

How to Create a Custom Timeframe on ParoxFX?

On the chart page, open the Time Interval menu.

In addition to the standard timeframes, you will have the option to define a new interval.

Select your preferred unit from Tick, Second, Minute, Hour, Day, Week, or Month, and specify the desired value.

Once created, your custom intervals will appear in the dedicated Custom section at the top of the timeframe list for quick access.

Your Timeframes Across Different Devices

One of the practical details of this feature is that the Custom Intervals you create are linked to your trading account.

This means your custom timeframe settings can remain available with your trading account across different devices, so you do not need to recreate them each time.

Suitable for Different Trading Styles

The ability to create custom timeframes can be useful for different trading styles, from traders who analyze very short-term market movements to those who study multi-hour or longer-term market structures.

For example:

Scalping: Using Tick Charts or very short intervals

Intraday Trading: Creating timeframes such as 7, 20, or 45 minutes

Swing Trading: Using custom multi-hour or multi-day intervals

The purpose of this feature is not to predict the market more accurately, but to give traders greater freedom to view and analyze price data according to their own trading methods.

TradingView Charts on the ParoxFX Platform

The trading platform used by ParoxFX features TradingView charts and provides traders with a range of chart analysis tools directly within the trading environment.

With the addition of Custom Chart Intervals and Tick-based Intervals, ParoxFX traders now have greater freedom to personalize their analysis environment.

As a result, when you need an unconventional timeframe, you are no longer limited to the standard list of available timeframes.

Create the timeframe your strategy requires, set up your chart according to your trading method, and perform your analysis directly on the ParoxFX platform.
